The core of nursing is patient safety. Filing an incident report, notifying the physician, and discussing the error all belong to subsequent administrative and communication processes; although necessary, they are not the priority compared with the client's immediate safety. The nurse should first stabilize the client and then carry out the subsequent investigation and procedures.
