根據護理實務準則，LPN 可執行常規給藥、加強先前 RN 已執行的衛教以及監測手術傷口引流。然而，複雜傷口護理、護理計畫的擬定與更新，以及初步的評估與教學，皆屬於註冊護理師（RN）的專業權限，不可委派給 LPN。
LPNs can administer oral medications, reinforce teaching previously initiated by the RN, and monitor surgical site drainage as part of routine care. However, complex sterile procedures, initial assessments, and care planning remain within the RN’s scope of practice.

美國有 LPN/RN 職位分級，台灣並無 LPN 職位，所有護理師皆為 RN，故台灣護理師執行所有上述項目。
