護理指派（Delegation）的五項原則是安全照護的基石：正確的任務（Right Task）、正確的情況（Right Circumstance）、正確的人員（Right Person）、正確的溝通（Right Communication）及正確的監督（Right Supervision）。RN 必須確保護佐（AP）具備執行該任務的能力，並提供明確指引，最後評估結果。護理評估（Assessment）屬於 RN 的不可授權職責。
The Five Rights of Delegation are the foundation of safe care: the Right Task, the Right Circumstance, the Right Person, the Right Communication, and the Right Supervision. The RN must ensure that the assistive personnel (AP) is competent to perform the task, provide clear instructions, and finally evaluate the outcome. Nursing assessment is an RN duty that cannot be delegated.
