Handoff reports should follow a structured communication framework such as SBAR, focusing on ensuring that the receiving team has the key clinical information. Including physiologic data, allergies and medications, the nursing care plan, and pending tests or procedures supports patient safety. Past employment history is not necessary information for ICU transfer and should be omitted out of respect for privacy.
