A history of falling within the past six months is the strongest predictor of future falls. Additional high-risk factors include the use of antihypertensive medications, which may cause orthostatic hypotension, and impaired visual acuity, which compromises environmental navigation. Age 50 is generally not considered a primary risk factor compared to those over 65.
