Gentamicin 屬於胺基糖苷類抗生素，其兩大主要毒性為耳毒性（Ototoxicity）與腎毒性（Nephrotoxicity）。耳毒性早期表現為耳鳴（Tinnitus）、暈眩或聽力受損。腎毒性則表現為肌酸酐上升、尿量減少。C、E 與此藥物機轉無關。此藥物需嚴格監測血中谷濃度（Trough level）以避免毒性蓄積。

Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic known for its potential to cause ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity. Nurses should monitor for signs of kidney dysfunction, such as elevated creatinine and decreased urine output, as well as early indicators of ear damage like tinnitus, dizziness, or hearing loss. Photosensitivity and hypoglycemia are not associated with this medication.
