流感（Influenza）主要經由帶有病毒的飛沫（Droplet）傳播。飛沫傳播的隔離措施旨在防止病原體透過咳嗽、打噴嚏等產生的較大飛沫散布。除了標準防護措施（Standard Precautions）外，飛沫隔離要求病人置於單人房或與同類感染病人安置（Cohort），且進入房間者需配戴外科口罩。此類隔離不需負壓裝置，亦不需 N95 口罩，因為病毒不會懸浮在空氣中長距離傳播。
