Medication administration safety requires correctly identifying the client (with armband, name, and date of birth) and strictly checking the armband and medication administration record (MAR) before and after giving the medication. Documentation must be completed immediately to prevent duplicate dosing. Cross-checking with pharmacy stock records is not part of the administration process.
