硝酸鹽類（Nitroglycerin）極易受光、熱影響而失效，應保存於原深色瓶中。服用原則為：疼痛時舌下含服，間隔 5 分鐘，最多服用 3 次，若無緩解則需立即就醫。口服後的麻刺感是有效反應。不可與威而鋼（Sildenafil）併用，會導致致命性低血壓。
