The clinical manifestations of digoxin toxicity are varied and involve visual, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and neurologic systems. Clients often report yellow-green halos in their vision, a classic sign of toxicity. Gastrointestinal symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and anorexia. Arrhythmias and bradycardia (<60 bpm) are common cardiovascular manifestations of toxicity. CNS effects include confusion and lethargy. Weight gain typically reflects worsening heart failure rather than a direct effect of digoxin toxicity.
