Sublingual nitroglycerin should be placed under the tongue and not swallowed. If chest pain is not relieved, an additional tablet may be taken every 5 minutes for up to three doses. If three doses are ineffective, emergency help must be summoned immediately. The medication should be stored in a light-protected bottle to prevent degradation. Option C is incorrect because the timing should not begin only after one tablet has failed; emergency help should be sought and additional doses continued as soon as the first dose is ineffective.
