吸入性類固醇（Inhaled Corticosteroids）是氣喘的長期保養藥物。由於藥物直接噴灑於口咽部，長期使用會抑制局部免疫反應，增加口腔念珠菌感染（鵝口瘡）的風險。指導病人使用後徹底漱口，能有效移除殘留在口腔黏膜的藥物，減少副作用。此藥物非急性支氣管痙攣的緩解藥物，必須規律使用以達到抗發炎效果。
Inhaled corticosteroids are long-term maintenance medications for asthma. Because the drug is deposited directly on the oropharyngeal mucosa, long-term use suppresses local immune responses and increases the risk of oral candidiasis (thrush). Teaching the client to rinse the mouth thoroughly after each use effectively removes residual drug from the oral mucosa and reduces this side effect. This medication does not provide relief for acute bronchospasm and must be used regularly to achieve its anti-inflammatory effect.
