甲狀腺切除術後，若副甲狀腺（Parathyroid glands）在手術中被誤傷或移除，會導致副甲狀腺素（PTH）分泌不足，引發低血鈣。低血鈣的早期臨床表現為手指、腳趾及口周麻刺感（Paresthesia）。若未及時處理，可能進一步發展為喉頭痙攣（Laryngospasm）、抽搐，甚至心律不整。這是術後極需優先處理的併發症。
After thyroidectomy, if the parathyroid glands are inadvertently injured or removed during surgery, decreased secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) results, triggering hypocalcemia. The early clinical manifestation of hypocalcemia is paresthesia of the fingers, toes, and perioral area. If not treated promptly, it may progress to laryngospasm, tetany, or even arrhythmias. This is a postoperative complication that requires top priority.
