During a seizure, the priorities are preventing injury and maintaining a patent airway. Side-lying (recovery) positioning prevents the tongue from falling back and obstructing the airway and allows oral secretions to drain naturally, reducing aspiration risk. D is absolutely incorrect: forcefully inserting a tongue blade can break teeth or obstruct the airway; B is incorrect, as restraining the limbs can cause fractures; and although D (medication) is important, ensuring safe positioning comes first.
