LPNs/LVNs can safely administer oral medications to stable clients, reinforce teaching previously provided by the RN, and perform routine dressing changes on surgical incisions. Initial assessments and monitoring of blood product infusions require the advanced clinical judgment and scope of practice reserved for RNs.
