PICC 併發症包含感染（紅腫）、導管尖端位移（胸痛、呼吸困難）、血栓（推注阻力）或導管阻塞（無回血）。檢查點應包含評估插入點有無紅腫熱痛、確認導管功能（通暢度與回血），並監控全身性症狀以排除肺栓塞或導管尖端移動導致的心律不整。
Signs of PICC line complications include erythema and edema at the insertion site indicating infection, chest pain and dyspnea suggesting catheter migration or thrombus, resistance during infusion pointing to obstruction, and absence of blood return indicating loss of patency. A dry, intact dressing is an expected, normal finding and not a sign of complication.
