護理師在授權（Delegation）給輔助人力（UAP）時，必須遵守「五個權利（Five Rights of Delegation）」。UAP 負責的是穩定、常規且不需複雜評估的工作。包括測量生命徵象、記錄入出量、協助活動及餵食（需確認無吞嚥困難）。涉及評估、教學、護理計畫制訂或複雜護理判斷的工作，則必須由註冊護理師（RN）親自執行。
Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) may perform routine, stable tasks such as measuring intake and output, obtaining vital signs, assisting ambulation, and feeding clients who have passed a swallowing assessment. Nursing functions involving assessment, medication evaluation, or complex judgment must remain with the registered nurse.
