In addition, the drops should be warmed in the hand before use to avoid being too cold, as cold stimulation can elicit a vestibular reflex and cause the patient to feel dizzy. After administration, the patient should remain in a side-lying position for several minutes to allow the solution to fully coat the deeper portion of the ear canal.
