張力性氣胸（Tension Pneumothorax）是呼吸系統的緊急狀況。當肋膜腔內的空氣只進不出，壓力持續上升，會導致患側肺完全塌陷，進而推擠縱隔腔（Mediastinum）向健側移位。這種壓迫會嚴重阻礙靜脈回流至心臟（減少心輸出量），若未及時處理，會導致阻塞性休克。氣管偏向健側（Tracheal deviation to the unaffected side）是張力性氣胸的晚期標誌性體徵。
Tension pneumothorax is a respiratory emergency. When air enters the pleural space but cannot escape, pressure continues to rise, causing complete collapse of the affected lung and shifting the mediastinum toward the unaffected side. This compression severely impairs venous return to the heart (decreasing cardiac output) and, if not treated promptly, can lead to obstructive shock. Tracheal deviation to the unaffected side is a late, hallmark sign of tension pneumothorax.
