舌下硝化甘油對光敏感，必須儲存在原裝遮光玻璃瓶內。若心絞痛發作，建議每 5 分鐘服用一劑，最多 3 劑，若第一劑後症狀未緩解或加劇，應立即撥打緊急救援電話。此藥為舌下吸收，不可吞服，否則會經過肝臟代謝導致藥效大減。
Sublingual nitroglycerin is light-sensitive and must be stored in its original amber glass bottle. For angina, one tablet may be taken every 5 minutes for up to three doses; if symptoms do not improve or worsen after the first dose, emergency services should be called immediately. The drug is absorbed sublingually and must not be swallowed, as first-pass hepatic metabolism would substantially reduce its effect.
